MY STORY

My name is Christopher Spence Pratt. In 2016, I attempted suicide. Thankfully, I survived, though at the time I will be honest, I was not happy to still be alive.

It was at this time though, that I had a moment of enlightenment. I thought to myself, "Have I ever even really tried to be happy? What do I want? What am I grateful for?" and I realized I could not answer these questions whatsoever. It was in this moment that I decided I was going to live my life differently. I was going to push myself into uncomfortable situations and things I had always avoided. Think of stress and anxiety as a Grizzly Bear looming over you, ready to maul. As you push yourself to confront this "Grizzly Bear", it becomes apparent it was never a "Grizzly Bear" to begin with, and you've been convincing yourself something is scarier than it ever actually was. With time and effort, my confidence, happiness, positive outlook, all grew dramatically. Things that once frightened me, were now laughable.
